Ali Berger’s Trackland label, now in its tenth year and roughly 64 releases deep, comes to vinyl for the first time with this 3-track EP titled “infinite chime”. The A side holds two patient & refined cuts for late or early dancefloors, heavy on atmosphere and true to the playful, exploratory arrangement style Ali has honed over a decade of recording live in the studio.

Flip the record and there’s infinite chime, a 10-minute suite that floats around a call-and-response bassline and unstoppable rimshot/hihat groove. Layers of synth and sound module piano improvisation take up a quiet conversation, never overpowering, gently holding and developing a space for calm. A few spoken words in the middle complete the idea:

love has a way of sticking around
of making it look easy
making us look silly
infinite chime, dancing in the wind
